Primary National Offer Day sees spike in online applications as parents and councils such as Luton turn to faster, easier processes

According to Liquidlogic, the UK’s fastest-growing supplier of software for local authority social care and education management services, there has been a noticeable increase in online primary school applications this year.

The British software brand saw a record number of applications on Primary National Offer Day on 19 April. More than 30,000 applications were processed for councils such as Luton, Rochdale, Hartlepool, Bath & North East Somerset, Knowsley, and Trafford, with more than 28,000 emails and a little over 7000 letters being sent out with offers.

The vast majority of applications were completed online via the Liquidlogic parent portal with some councils achieving over 99% online applications. There has been a steady increase in the number of online applications, along with overall applications processed.

The total number of applications has almost doubled compared to last year. This is largely due to a spike in the number of councils using Liquidlogic Early Years & Education System (EYES), which includes the country’s most flexible and comprehensive School Admissions and Appeals Module.

This year saw Luton Council using EYES to manage primary school offers for the first time with efficient results. They too have noticed a trend towards online applications.

Ultimately, it results in better outcomes for children and their families.”

“We used EYES for the first time this year to support our management of Primary National Offer Day. We processed more than 3500 offers, with 93.9% of those applications being made online. National Offer Day can be an emotional and stressful time for families.
