North Yorkshire County Council Selects Liquidlogic in Health and Adult Services

northyorksLiquidlogic, a McKesson company is pleased to announce that following a competitive procurement process, North Yorkshire County Council has awarded a contract to provide a complete case-management system for Health and Adult Services

Liquidlogic’s system will deliver superior functionality, including mobile working, safeguarding recording, citizen and provider direct access and full financial capabilities.

The tender process began in January 2012 and has involved a two-way dialogue with a number of potential suppliers, site visits to other authorities already using the various systems, demonstrations to a range of front-line staff and extensive evaluation of written tenders by a team of social care, finance, ICT, performance and customer service centre staff. Scores for each system were awarded based on quality and price and the outright winner was Liquidlogic.

Speaking about the decision, Debbie Hogg, Assistant Director, Resources says: “we evaluated a number of systems but found that Liquidlogic’s solution was innovative, intuitive and user-friendly and was widely praised by the operational staff who attended the demonstrations. We intend to implement mobile working as standard, enabling practitioners to work securely and remotely on the live system – vital given our rurality and the fact that we are England’s largest County.”

Ultimately the Council will also use a Customer Portal, giving service users the ability to self-assess, self-serve, maintain and update their information and communicate directly with their key worker. This underpins one of the key principles of Personalisation, that people should have more choice and control over the support they receive.

Jim Sullivan, Sales Director at Liquidlogic comments: “we’re delighted that North Yorkshire has chosen Liquidlogic for its Adults’ System.  The evaluation process involved a wide variety of future users of the system, which in our experience promotes user enthusiasm from a very early stage.  The Council was clear about its specifications for a system which meets their requirements both now and going forward for the long term.”

The Children’s Team at North Yorkshire County Council currently uses Liquidlogic’s system. The Adults’ System will link via an Integration Hub to enable secure shared views and links between the two systems where appropriate, offering real benefits in terms of safeguarding, transitions, OT and sensory services and streamlining processes for the Customer Service Centre and Emergency Duty Teams.

The system will be implemented in 2014.
