Liquidlogic, a McKesson company, provides cloud services under the UK government’s G-Cloud framework.
This means that public sector organisations will be able to procure Liquidlogic Social Care Case Management from the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) category of G-Cloud.
G-Cloud is a government initiative that aims to provide a single repository of cloud-based IT services for use by public sector organisations, through CloudStore – an online marketplace for cloud IT services. The move is designed to drive the wider adoption of cloud computing in the public sector and deliver a more efficient, competitive and cost-effective way of buying IT services.
Jim Sullivan, Sales Director at Liquidlogic believes this is a positive move, further demonstrating Liquidlogic’s progressive attitude and opening up another procurement route for local authorities. “We have responded to the market’s increased demand for Software-as-a-Service with a solid cloud-based solution. Our place on the G-Cloud framework was an essential route to market for our cloud-based case management system.”
Liquidlogic’s success coincides with the expansion of the G-Cloud supplier framework, and the formal introduction of the government’s ‘Cloud First’ policy. The new policy makes it mandatory for some public sector buyers of IT products and services to consider purchases through CloudStore as their first option.
In a public announcement , Francis Maude, Minister for the Cabinet Office, said: “G-Cloud brings a step change in the way government buys IT. It’s quicker, cheaper and more competitive, open to a wider range of companies, and offers more choice and innovation. Many government departments already use G-Cloud, but IT costs are still too high. One way we can reduce them is to accelerate the adoption of Cloud across the public sector to maximise its benefits. The Cloud First policy will embed the skills a modern civil service needs to meet the demands of 21st-century digital government and help us to get ahead in the global race.”
Liquidlogic Social Care Case Management is a web-based case management system for children’s and adult social care case management. The workflow-driven system supports social workers in recording their support for service-users, and is the most widely-used case management system in English local authorities. In addition to being available via G-Cloud as SaaS, Liquidlogic Social Care Case Management is also available as a locally-hosted solution.
