North Yorkshire County Council Choose Liquidlogic ICS for Long-term Improvement of Children’s Services
Liquidlogic regarded as ideal ICS provider to support the future of Children’s Services in North Yorkshire
Leeds, 27 September 2007 – Liquidlogic, a leading provider of collaborative software to the public sector, has announced that its PROTOCOL Integrated Children’s System (ICS) has been chosen by the Children’s Services Department of North Yorkshire County Council to provide the county’s 350 trained care practitioners with an electronic case planning and management system. The solution which is fully compliant with the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) ICS Phase 1A Requirements is now being rolled out and is scheduled to go live in North Yorkshire early January, 2008.
North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) is the largest local authority in the UK with 15 Children’s Social Care operational teams based at disparate points across the county. The Council subsequently required an ICS solution that was user-friendly and easily standardised so that a common and coherent set of key processes could be readily adopted by all care practitioners across the county.
Fran Senior, ICS Project Manager at North Yorkshire County Council said: “We felt that Liquidlogic was the best choice to support our objectives in the long term. We were impressed with Liquidlogic’s highly intuitive system and its support team has been excellent at handling the preparations for the implementation. The new system will provide care practitioners with full electronic visibility of each case and will enable them to spend more time concentrating on the resolution of complex cases, rather than on manually completing mountains of paperwork.”
North Yorkshire is preparing staff for the go-live in January 2008 by providing a comprehensive training programme to over 500 users. The Council will also be holding two launch days in October and November 2007 to demonstrate and explain the changeover with staff.
“As a former social worker myself, I can see the benefits of the system immediately. It provides practitioners with relevant case information immediately at the point of care and frees up staff time to focus on improving best practice. This ultimately translates to improved outcomes for children,” comments Senior.
North Yorkshire is the twentieth local authority to choose Liquidlogic’s ICS solution.
Denise Harrison, Sales and Marketing Director at Liquidlogic, said: “The positive experience of using our ICS solution is now motivating many local authorities to re-examine their existing solutions for Adults Services, as well as Children’s Services.”
