Violent Deaths of Children 'Down 40%'

A recent report produced by Bournemouth University concludes that violent deaths of children in England and Wales have tumbled by 40% in the last 30 years.

Prof Colin Pritchard, from the University's School of Health and Social Care confirmed that England and Wales were amongst the worst offenders around 30 years ago and placed at third or fourth in the western world league table as opposed to recent figures which ranks them fourth lowest.

The recognition that improvements in social care systems can be partially attributed to the reduction is reassuring to Liquidlogic’s Children’s Services Specialist, Andrew Smith: “it’s encouraging to see from this research that violent child deaths have significantly decreased. At Liquidlogic our focus continues to be on the use of technology as an aid to social work practice whilst ensuring multi-agency communication to safeguard vulnerable children.”
