Rochdale Borough Council Launch Me Learning

Liquidlogic is delighted to announce that Rochdale Borough Council has gone live with an e-learning suite designed by Me Learning to support the roll-out of its Phase 1B compliant PROTOCOL ICS solution.

Working closely with specialist e-learning course provider, Me Learning and the councils Change Management and IT team, Liquidlogic helped to develop a comprehensive e-learning suite to provide their 320 Children’s Social Care workers an easy-to-use, on-line training system for its PROTOCOL ICS system. The system covers the 52 modules of ICS functionality and will be an on-line source for refresher training and new starters. The e–learning suite also covers DCSF-stipulated ICS processes and procedures to ensure that social workers are up-to-date with the latest legislation.

Information Program Manager at Rochdale Borough Council, Simon Watton said the organisation saw the benefit of e-learning very early on:

“The idea was to provide ongoing support to staff using Liquidlogic’s PROTOCOL ICS system, following the traditional classroom training we organised in the summer of last year. We rationalised that this would help to minimise calls to the Help Desk, train new recruits quickly and enable existing staff to get up to speed on system updates effectively.”

Rochdale chose to implement Liquidlogic’s PROTOCOL ICS solution, after its original ICS provider failed to deliver a complete solution that was compliant. Heavily delayed in its implementation of a compliant ICS solution, Rochdale needed a robust ICS solution that had automatic Phase 1 and 1B ICS compliance, so that it could be ahead of schedule with the DCSF’s Phase 1B ICS requirements.

“Liquidlogic was the only supplier to offer automatic Phase 1 and 1B ICS compliance, and as we needed to implement as quickly as possible, Liquidlogic really was the most obvious choice. We have not only been highly impressed with how Liquidlogic was able to deliver a live ICS system within six months from contract signing, but also the way in which they collaborated with Me Learning to create an optimum e-learning package for ICS. Many suppliers are not comfortable with the idea of engaging with other vendors, but Liquidlogic really does put its money where its mouth is, by being open and flexible enough to co-operate with other software providers,” said Simon.

Liquidlogic’s Sales and Marketing Director, Denise Harrison, comments “Rochdale Borough Council has been truly innovative in the way it has delivered its Integrated Children’s System. Their input into the development of the e-learning course for PROTOCOL ICS will enable other local authorities to benefit from a valuable new method of training support which will help to train new recruits and temporary staff who have not used an ICS system before. It has been a pleasure working with Me Learning to create this beneficial new service and we look forward to a long-term collaboration to deliver excellent ICS training support to our customers across the UK.”

Me-Learning’s Sales and Marketing Director, Nick Richards adds “We are delighted to be working with Liquidlogic and their customers in this exciting new area of on-line learning. We are extremely proud of the PROTOCOL ICS training system and look forward to an exciting future working in partnership with Liquidlogic delivering this innovative and leading edge training solutions to their customers”.
