Single View

The source

Single View is part of the Multi Agency Children's System and allows a practitioner to search for a child's records across multiple databases from multiple agencies. Single View can display data from a range of agencies including the social care system, education authority, Youth Offending teams, Connexions and housing organisations. Single View offers a holistic view of a child, enabling practitioners to take a joined up approach to child protection. Practitioners can create a chronology of events for the child, including details of multi-agency professional involvements and relationships. Depending on their role and security profile the practitioner can also access their case management system directly from the Single View system via a single sign on.

Some Local Authorities search Single View whenever a referral to social care or a CAF is required. Typically the child will exist in the Education database. If they are known to the education system, a practitioner can copy the education demographics into the case management system, ensuring the information they have is accurate. The two records can then be linked so that changes to either database will be reflected in Single View.
